Texans need a hand up, not a handout

Housing costs have skyrocketed, young working Texans and their families are shut out of the market, and the average first time home buyer age is almost 40 years old.

As your Senator I will work to pass fair housing legislation, advocate for policies that provide property tax relief to working Texans, and help first time home buyers get in the market

As your Senator I will protect the public education system and introduce legislation that gives teachers more say in the resources they need, not what the state says they can have. I will also work to establish more higher education support for rural students through grants and scholarships.

Rural hospitals are vital to our district and many are set to be closed. These places provide an important service to our seniors and provide employment to the community.

As your Senator I will fight for policies that provide efficient, effective and convenient services for residents. Keeping our rural hospitals well-funded to keep jobs and healthcare in our under-served communities.

Mom and Pop shops are what make the small towns great in our district. Over the years however many mom and pops are squeezed out by corporations.

As your senator I will protect mom and pop businesses from corporate monopolies and private equity firms, through reinvestment and tax relief for Texas small business owners.

Single parents have the toughest job, between work and raising children. A substantial number of households live in poverty. I believe we can do more to support single parents, and we should by lowering court costs, and creating affordable childcare.

I believe in personal freedom and keeping government in the capitol and out of Texans personal lives. Everyone deserves respect, dignity and the liberty to live their lives as they see fit.

As your senator I will stand for all my constituents, protecting freedom, and liberty. I will advocate for smart, ethical policies based in common decency towards everyone in our communities.
